Getaway Weekend...

Makayla had her first weekend trip this past weekend:

First Trip to McDonalds...

First trip to Mimi's house...

First Christmas party at Aunt Sue and Uncle Chet's house...

6 weeks old and she did great traveling to Houston and back. We also went to Aidan's 3rd birthday party but I was a bad aunt and didn't take any pictures... but it was great to see everyone. Makayla is such a lucky and special little girl to have so many people love her so much. We had a great time!

Makayla's Room

Thank you to Mandy and Anthony for the letters in Makayla's room. They did such a great job making them and yes, I'm totally jealous of their creativity!!!

Present for mommy...

I guess I'm fooling myself if I thought changing diapers wouldn't be messy. Makayla was in the middle of getting clean when out of nowhere she pooped all over my hand, and if you've ever changed a newborn's diaper you know that it's not pretty. All I could say was, welcome to motherhood.

Makayla has arrived...

The morning of October 28th, 2011 started with the expectation to go to the hospital to attempt to get Makayla to turn in preparation for a natural birth. Gregory and I showed up for our 10:30 am appointment and were told there were no available rooms. Since our procedure was elective we were pushed back. We waited around all day and finally at 4:30 we got the call that a room was ready for us. I was quickly hooked up to an IV and monitors were placed to watch the baby's heart rate and blood flow. The doctor came in and started with the ultrasound to look at the fluid levels. She discovered that the fluid levels were too low for the procedure. Gregory and I both thought she was going to tell us to go home and we would have to reschedule, but instead she said... "I know you don't want to hear this, but it looks like we're having a baby today." Gregory and I immediately went into a mode of shock. As we emotionally prepared for the delivery of Makayla we notified all immediate family. Around 9:40 pm the nurse came in and took us to the operating room where I was given a spinal injection and quickly lost the feeling in my lower body. At 10:07 pm Makayla Marie Grudecki was born. Gregory and I are so proud and so happy to have this little girl to love. She is absolutely amazing!

Orion's First Birthday

October 15th was Orion's first birthday so of course we had to celebrate!!! He got his first present at home, a yummy bone with filling that he enjoyed all day long.

Then we went to Greg's parents house so he could play with his friends. We couldn't find doggie cake mix, so we got them cookies and Orion received an edible birthday card.

Houston Baby Shower

So these pictures are way past due for the blog...

September 17th my Aunt Kim and cousin Jessica threw me a shower in Houston. I had a great time visiting and spending time with family and friends. Here are some pics from the shower...



Makayla's Room

After many long hours Gregory finished Makayla's room just in time to fill it with presents...

Baby Shower

On Sunday, September 11th Fran and Greg (Gregory's parents) threw us an amazing baby shower. We had so many wonderful people show and give their support and love for our little baby girl. We received so many wonderful gifts, including 3 diaper genies... hopefully not a sign of a stinky baby...



Sonogram Visits

Gregory and I went to have a 3D sonogram twice, but Makayla is so comfortable that she kept her hands in her face and her face too close to the placenta. Here is a picture... it's the best shot we got of her.

Makayla's First Friend

Yesterday I went to Janelle's house for a little while and her daughter, Cameryn who is 3 years old, asked me... "Do you have a baby in your tummy?" I said "yes I do" then she asked "can she come out so I can meet her?" I told her that it would be a little while before she can come out but it will be soon. She then looked at me with the sweetest face and said "Please???". It was the cutest thing. Makayla already has a friend wanting her to come out and play.

Vegas 2011

August 13th Gregory and I went to Las Vegas and we had a blast. This was the first time for both of us so it was quite an experience. We stayed at the Treasure Island Resort and watched the Cirque Du Soleil show, Mystere.

Here I am pregnant, next to two Flamingo girls... Good thing I have an excuse!

Gregory and Orion

After dinner the other night the three of us went for a walk to the pond in our neighborhood. Orion had so much fun and led the way the whole time.

Mommy, Daddy, Look what I can do...

Gregory and I went to the doctor on Wednesday, 6/22, and had an ultrasound to find out our precious little baby is a beautiful girl. We are so excited and I can't wait to start picking out pink baby gear!!!



Orion

Welcome our newest member of our family, Orion. He is an Akita Shepherd, about 9 months old, that was rescued the day he was scheduled to be euthenized. He escaped from his previous owner's yard 3 times, on the second he sliced his chest on a chain link fence and had to be stitched up. After the third time they decided not to pick him up from the shelter. Gregory and I met him and just fell in love. He is very sweet and loving. Still needs to learn how to play fetch and learn his name, but for the most part he's a good boy. Luckily I've been on vacation this week so I can spend time training him and allowing him to get adjusted to his new home. Grandma Renee and Grandpa Denis bought him his new crate as a welcome home gift which he is starting to get used to sleeping in. He loves his blue football, my flip flops, and Gregory's sneakers, but that's one of those things we're working on.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Our roses, oleander, and new chinese pistache tree are all so beautiful and in bloom! We have had a lot of rain recently and our plants and trees are loving it!

Baby News

November 11, 2011 (11/11/11) a new baby will enter this world to the Grudecki house. Gregory and I are so excited and are enjoying all that lies in our future. My next doctor appointment is May 25th and at the end of June we will find out if we are blessed with a baby boy or baby girl.
